Schwarber Hits Two Homers Into the Corn as Phillies Rout Twins 7-1 at Field of Dreams
Kyle Schwarber hit two home runs into the cornfields behind right field at the Field of Dreams in Dyersville, Iowa, as the Philadelphia Phillies routed the Minnesota Twins 7-1 Thursday in the first game at the iconic site in four years. Schwarber, who leads the majors with 37 home runs, connected on the third pitch of his first at-bat against Taj Bradley before adding a two-run shot in the fourth inning. Brandon Marsh contributed a two-run homer in the seventh. Aaron Nola (4-9) struck out nine over five innings for his first win in 15 starts since May 26.

Díaz Implodes Again as Brewers Rally for Three in Ninth, Top Dodgers 5-4
The Milwaukee Brewers rallied for three runs in the ninth inning to stun the Los Angeles Dodgers 5-4 Thursday and remain alone atop the National League standings. Jake Bauers delivered the go-ahead RBI single with two outs as Milwaukee strung together five consecutive singles against Dodgers relievers Edwin Díaz and Alex Vesia. Los Angeles had carried a 4-2 lead into the ninth before Díaz, the majors' highest-paid closer, gave up four straight one-out singles. It was the third blown save in Díaz's last four outings, pushing his ERA to 11.57. DL Hall (2-0) earned the win; Trevor Megill recorded his 22nd save.

Cavalli Takes No-Hitter Into Seventh, Strikes Out 10 as Nationals Blank Cubs 7-0
Cade Cavalli took a no-hitter into the seventh inning, striking out 10 and setting career highs with eight innings pitched and 103 pitches thrown as the Washington Nationals blanked the Chicago Cubs 7-0 Thursday at Nationals Park. Cavalli (10-5), who turns 28 on Friday, retired the first 15 batters before walking Dansby Swanson to open the sixth. Michael Busch's bloop single to left field with two outs in the seventh ended the bid. The Nationals Park crowd applauded Cavalli's effort, which would have been Washington's first no-hitter since Max Scherzer accomplished the feat twice in 2015.

Tigers Blank Guardians 3-0 Without a Single Strikeout, a First in MLB Since 2014
Keider Montero pitched three-hit ball into the seventh inning and the Detroit Tigers blanked the Cleveland Guardians 3-0 Thursday, becoming the first team in the majors to record a shutout without a strikeout since Rick Porcello blanked Oakland on July 1, 2014. Montero (9-7) allowed one walk over 6 1/3 innings without recording a strikeout. Tyler Holton pitched 1 2/3 strong innings in relief, and Kenley Jansen worked a perfect ninth for his 15th save. Dillon Dingler drove in the first run with an RBI groundout, and Eduardo Valencia added his fifth home run of the season.

Tolle Dominates Eight Innings, Durbin Grand Slam Lifts Red Sox Past Blue Jays 7-0
Rookie Payton Tolle allowed just two hits over eight innings, Caleb Durbin hit a grand slam and the Boston Red Sox ended a five-game losing streak with a 7-0 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays on Thursday. Tolle (8-6) struck out four and threw 91 pitches, retiring his final 17 consecutive batters in the longest outing of his career. The Red Sox led 1-0 before Durbin broke the game open in the eighth, driving a 1-0 sweeper from Chase Lee into the left-field bullpen. Durbin added an RBI single in the ninth, finishing 3-for-5 on the night.

Gilbert Gem Lifts Mariners Over Yankees 1-0, Snapping Six-Game Losing Streak
Logan Gilbert held the New York Yankees to four hits and struck out seven over seven innings as the Seattle Mariners ended a six-game losing streak with a 1-0 victory Thursday at Yankee Stadium. Weston Wilson provided the game's only run with a solo home run off Max Fried (4-4) in the second inning. Andrés Muñoz worked a perfect ninth for his 21st save. Gilbert improved to 9-7 on the season. The Mariners avoided losing seven straight for the first time since 2020 and earned their first 1-0 win at Yankee Stadium since Félix Hernández's two-hitter on August 4, 2012.

Stewart, Suárez and Stephenson Go Deep as Reds Hold Off White Sox 9-8
Sal Stewart, Eugenio Suárez and Tyler Stephenson homered, with Suárez driving in four runs, as the Cincinnati Reds held off the Chicago White Sox 9-8 Thursday to take the rubber game of the three-game series. Stewart scored four times. White Sox right-hander Davis Martin was ejected in the third inning after plunking Stewart with a pitch following an earlier inside offering to the rookie slugger. Tejay Antone (2-0) pitched a scoreless inning for the win, and Julian Garcia worked the ninth for his second save. Chicago had won three of four in the clubs' previous meetings.
