Fraud Scheme Targeting Biffle Estate Revealed in Search Warrants
Search warrants made public this week reveal an alleged fraud scheme targeting the estate of the late Greg Biffle, the former NASCAR Cup Series driver killed in a December 18, 2025, plane crash along with his wife Cristina and their two children. Within hours of the crash, access to the family’s bank accounts was changed. A fraudulent check was cashed December 30. On January 7 and 8, a burglar familiar with the Mooresville, North Carolina home spent roughly six hours inside, removing cash, firearms, and NASCAR memorabilia. Investigators say hundreds of thousands of dollars were stolen across both the break-in and account fraud. No arrests have been made.

Reddick Leads Field Into Texas; Buescher Faces Brutal Track Record
Tyler Reddick arrives at Texas Motor Speedway this weekend as the dominant force in the 2026 Cup Series, holding a 110-point lead with five wins in the first 10 races. He owns a prior Texas win and has recorded four top-10s in seven starts at the 1.5-mile oval with a 13.1 average finish. Chris Buescher, second at Talladega last Sunday, faces a difficult homecoming — he has never posted a top-10 finish in 16 Texas Cup starts, averaging worse than 21st. Carson Hocevar, coming off his first career win at Talladega, will look to prove his momentum is sustainable on intermediate-track ovals.

Talladega Draws 3.97 Million Viewers, Slight Dip From 2025
Sunday’s Jack Link’s 500 at Talladega Superspeedway drew an average audience of 3.967 million viewers on Fox Sports, with a Nielsen rating of 2.11. The figure represents a modest decline from the 2025 spring Talladega race, which averaged 4.041 million viewers and a 2.18 rating. The event produced one of the most memorable NASCAR moments of the 2026 season — Carson Hocevar’s first Cup win on a last-lap pass — which helped generate additional interest beyond the television audience. A YouTube live stream featuring an in-car camera drew more than 100,000 concurrent viewers, extending the race’s reach to a broader online audience.
