I started samwise.agency because I got tired of the news.

Not tired of knowing what’s happening — tired of the work involved in actually finding out. Between the endless scrolling, the paywalls, the hot takes dressed up as reporting, and the sheer volume of it all, keeping up started to feel like a part-time job I never applied for.

So I built a better way to do it. For myself, first. Then it seemed like maybe other people might want the same thing.

The idea is simple: a headline should tell you something real. A summary should be genuinely all you need if you’re busy. And if a story catches your attention and you want to go deeper, the sources are right there — actual journalism, from the places that did the work.

No spin. No filler. No “here’s why this matters to YOU.” Just the news, in plain language, at a pace you can actually live with.

samwise.agency covers the topics I care about — and probably some you do too. It runs on a healthy obsession with getting the signal-to-noise ratio right, and a deep suspicion of anything that wastes your time.
