Chiefs WR Rashee Rice Sentenced to 30 Days in Jail for Parole Violation, Will Miss OTAs and Minicamp
Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice was sentenced to 30 days in jail after testing positive for marijuana in violation of his probation terms stemming from his role in a 2024 multi-car crash on a Dallas highway. Rice was booked into Dallas County jail on May 19 and will remain in custody until June 16, causing him to miss the Chiefs’ remaining OTA sessions and mandatory minicamp. Giants Restructure LT Andrew Thomas Contract, Creating $6.46 Million in Cap Space
The New York Giants restructured left tackle Andrew Thomas’s contract Wednesday, converting most of his $15.9 million base salary into a signing bonus spread over the remaining four years of his deal, freeing $6.46 million in 2026 salary cap space, according to an AP source. Thomas was due to carry a $24.045 million cap number this season under a contract running through 2029. The Giants chose a partial restructure rather than the maximum available option, which would have cleared an additional $4.5 million. New York now holds approximately $12 million in available cap space, placing the team near the bottom of the league.
