Wrobleski Carries No-Hitter Into Sixth as Dodgers Top Phillies 4-2
Justin Wrobleski carried a no-hitter into the sixth inning as the Los Angeles Dodgers topped the Philadelphia Phillies 4-2 Friday night at Dodger Stadium. The 25-year-old lefthander (7-2) struck out a career-high nine without a walk in seven innings, setting down the side in the first and fifth innings. Kyle Schwarber broke up the no-hit bid with a 411-foot solo homer in the sixth. Freddie Freeman, Max Muncy, Shohei Ohtani, and Will Smith each hit solo home runs off Zack Wheeler (4-1) to account for all the scoring. Tanner Scott earned his fifth save. Los Angeles has won six straight.
Goldschmidt Blasts Three-Run Homer as Yankees Win Fifth Straight, Severino Exits Early
Paul Goldschmidt hit a three-run homer in the first inning, Ben Rice tied Aaron Judge for the team lead with his 17th home run, and the New York Yankees beat the Athletics 8-2 Friday night for their fifth straight victory. Carlos Rodón allowed one run on four hits in six innings. The Yankees have outscored opponents 36-6 during the win streak. Athletics starter Luis Severino exited after one inning with an injury, grimacing during warmup tosses before the second inning and departing following a brief consultation with manager Mark Kotsay and the athletic trainer. Michael Harris II went 3-for-5 with three RBI as the Atlanta Braves beat the Cincinnati Reds 8-3 Friday night at Great American Ball Park, improving to a Major League-best 39-19. Ronald Acuña Jr. hit a solo home run in the first inning, and Atlanta held a 4-1 lead after three innings. Cincinnati cut the deficit to 4-3 before the Braves put the game away with four runs in the sixth. Yunior Marte, making his major league debut, surrendered all four of those runs in 1/3 of an inning for Terry Francona’s squad. Reds starter Chris Paddack allowed four earned runs in five innings.

Gore Hurls Shutout Ball as Rangers Rout Royals 9-1; Kansas City Season-Worst 13 Under .500
MacKenzie Gore pitched 6 1/3 shutout innings and the Texas Rangers rolled past the Kansas City Royals 9-1 Friday at Globe Life Field in Arlington. Gore scattered four hits and walked one, improving to 4-4 on the season. The Rangers struck early, posting four two-out runs in the first inning aided by a pair of Kansas City throwing errors. Brandon Nimmo, Nicky Lopez, and Joc Pederson each hit home runs. Lopez, a former Royal, homered in the sixth for his first Rangers hit after going 0-for-8. Kansas City has lost 14 of its last 17 games and is now a season-worst 13 games below .500.

Melendez Blasts First Career Walk-Off Homer as Mets Outlast Marlins 9-7 in 10
MJ Melendez hit the first walk-off home run of his career in the 10th inning, a two-run shot into the second deck in right field, as the New York Mets outlasted the Miami Marlins 9-7 Friday night at Citi Field. The Mets squandered four-run leads three times before Melendez, who had entered as a pinch-hitter in the seventh inning, connected off Pete Fairbanks (2-3) with a 105-mph exit velocity drive that landed 373 feet away. Austin Warren (1-1) tossed a perfect 10th for New York. The win ended a six-game Mets losing streak. Miami has dropped three consecutive games.

Turang’s 10th-Inning Sac Fly Lifts Brewers Past Astros 5-4
Jackson Chourio hit a two-run homer and Brice Turang delivered a walk-off sacrifice fly in the 10th inning as the Milwaukee Brewers defeated the Houston Astros 5-4 Friday night at Daikin Park. Christian Yelich opened the Brewers’ 10th at second base, advanced to third on a shallow flyout to center that drew an errant throw, and scored when Turang lifted a fly ball to right off Alimber Santa (0-1). Milwaukee had trailed 4-1 before Chourio’s blast off Kai-Wei Teng cut the deficit to 4-3. David Hamilton also homered for Milwaukee. Trevor Megill earned his seventh save.

Braves at 39-19 Set Historic Pace; AL West Leaders Mariners Sit at .500
The Atlanta Braves own baseball’s best record at 39-19 following Friday’s win, continuing their historic pace through May. Padres Targeting Chapman and Senzatela in Early Deadline Bullpen Push
The San Diego Padres are actively shopping for bullpen reinforcements ahead of the August 3 trade deadline, with primary targets Boston Red Sox closer Aroldis Chapman and Colorado Rockies reliever Antonio Senzatela.
