Marner Sets Fastest Hat Trick Record in Stanley Cup Final History
Mitch Marner recorded the fastest hat trick in Stanley Cup Final history during Game 3 Saturday at T-Mobile Arena, scoring three goals in 6:10 of the second period to eclipse Maurice “Rocket” Richard’s previous mark of 6:21, set 69 years ago. McNabb Returns for Game 3 With Full Facial Cage After 87 MPH Puck Strike

McKenna Tops VO2 Max Test as NHL Scouting Combine Concludes in Buffalo
Projected No. 1 draft pick Gavin McKenna turned in one of the top performances at the 2026 NHL Scouting Combine, which concluded Saturday in Buffalo after running June 1–6. McKenna, a Penn State forward who measured at five-foot-11.25 and 170 pounds, finished in the top 20 in seven fitness categories and recorded the best VO2 Max aerobic fitness score among all 90 prospects. He is set to meet with at least eight teams before the June 26 draft at KeyBank Center in Buffalo. Defenseman Chase Reid, who measured at six-foot-2.5 and 190 pounds, was taken to dinner by the Chicago Blackhawks, who hold the No. 4 selection.

Tampa Bay’s Vasilevskiy Wins Second Vezina Trophy With Help From Police K-9
Tampa Bay Lightning goaltender Andrei Vasilevskiy captured his second Vezina Trophy on Saturday, awarded as the NHL’s best goaltender for the 2025–26 season. Vasilevskiy received 17 first-place votes and appeared on 28 of the 32 ballots cast by NHL general managers, finishing with 114 points. He posted a .912 save percentage and a 2.27 goals-against average across 58 regular-season games. Boston Bruins goaltender Jeremy Swayman and New York Islanders netminder Ilya Sorokin were the other two finalists. Vasilevskiy’s first Vezina came in 2018–19. The ceremony featured an unusual assist from a police K-9 unit during the presentation.
