10-Man USMNT Beats Bosnia 2-0 in Historic World Cup Knockout Win
The United States defeated Bosnia and Herzegovina 2-0 in the World Cup Round of 32 Wednesday at Levi’s Stadium in the Bay Area, their second all-time knockout-round win and first since 2002. Folarin Balogun scored in the 45th minute — his third goal of the tournament — and Malik Tillman added a direct free kick in the 82nd minute. Balogun was red-carded in the 64th minute, forcing the US to hold on with ten men through the final 36-plus minutes. The red card carries a suspension: Balogun will miss Monday’s Round of 16 match against Belgium at Lumen Field in Seattle, where the US enters as a slight favorite.

USMNT vs. Belgium: Round of 16 Rematch in Seattle Without Balogun
The United States faces Belgium in the World Cup Round of 16 on Monday, July 6, at Lumen Field in Seattle (8 p.m. ET), a rematch of their 2014 last-16 encounter — which Belgium won 2-1 in extra time, remembered for Tim Howard’s 16-save performance. The US must do it without Folarin Balogun, who is suspended following his red card against Bosnia and Herzegovina. Belgium advanced by defeating Senegal 3-2 in extra time. The Americans open as slight favorites at BetMGM, with Belgium at nearly even odds. A win would advance the US to the quarterfinals in Los Angeles on July 10.
