NCAA Sends Letter of Inquiry to Cincinnati Over Sorsby Gambling Scandal
The NCAA has sent a formal letter of inquiry to the University of Cincinnati asking what the school knew about quarterback Brendan Sorsby’s gambling activity, including approximately 40 bets placed on Indiana football games — some while Sorsby was enrolled at Cincinnati. The letter marks a significant escalation of a scandal that has unfolded since late 2025: Sorsby transferred to Texas Tech, was ruled ineligible by the NCAA, lost a court injunction, and was bypassed in the NFL’s June supplemental draft. Cincinnati’s compliance program now faces formal scrutiny. EA Sports College Football 27 Drops Today — First Time on PC, Cover Features Moore, Toney, Lacy
EA Sports College Football 27 officially launches today at 11 AM PT, including for the first time on PC via Steam — the biggest platform expansion since the series was revived in 2024. The standard edition cover features Oregon quarterback Dante Moore, Miami wide receiver Malachi Toney, and Ole Miss running back Kewan Lacy. New features for CF27 include a revamped Road to Glory mode, updated Dynasty mechanics, and an expanded Ultimate Team system with Skill Points upgrade paths. Season 1 Legends include Bo Jackson, Devin Hester, and Ed Reed, with 107 total Legend cards at launch. It’s the third edition in the rebooted franchise.

Coach Prime Explains His CF27 Absence: ‘If I’m Not in the Game, They Weren’t Paying Enough’

Chase Daniel Signs Multi-Year ESPN Extension, Joins SEC Nation Alongside Finebaum, Tebow
Former Missouri quarterback Chase Daniel has signed a multi-year extension with ESPN and will join the SEC Nation studio show for the 2026 season. Daniel will appear alongside Paul Finebaum, Tim Tebow, Roman Harper, and new host Matt Barrie when SEC Nation debuts July 19 from Tampa, ahead of the SEC’s annual media days. The former 2007 Heisman finalist at Mizzou spent 14 years in the NFL before joining ESPN in 2025, and he continues to serve as a play-by-play voice for Thursday night primetime college football. The SEC Nation debut also functions as the unofficial start of the SEC’s national media push before August training camps open.
