Tyson Philpot’s Four Straight 100-Yard Games Fuel Alouettes’ 37-30 Win Over Stampeders
The Montreal Alouettes improved to 4-1 on Saturday night, edging the Calgary Stampeders 37-30 at Percival Molson Stadium as Tyson Philpot recorded his fourth consecutive 100-yard receiving game with nine catches for 132 yards and a touchdown. Quarterback Davis Alexander went 22-of-30 for 301 yards and a score, while running back Travis Theis contributed 94 rushing yards and a touchdown to the balanced Montreal attack. Alouettes Not Worried After Davis Alexander Exits Late With Hamstring Issue
The Montreal Alouettes say they are not concerned about quarterback Davis Alexander’s health after the starter left Saturday’s 37-30 win over the Calgary Stampeders in the fourth quarter with a hamstring issue. Head coach Jason Maas told reporters that Alexander received treatment following his exit and the team expects him to be ready going forward. Maas acknowledged he had considered pulling Alexander earlier in the game if Montreal had built a larger lead.
