Kucherov Scores 27 Seconds Into OT, Joins Elite Company with Second 130-Point Season

Nikita Kucherov became only the tenth player in NHL history to record multiple 130-point seasons, scoring just 27 seconds into overtime to lift the Tampa Bay Lightning to a 4-3 victory over the Detroit Red Wings on Tuesday. The superstar right wing struck early in the extra frame to deliver Tampa Bay a win with playoff seeding still in play. The milestone puts Kucherov in rarified company alongside some of the sport’s all-time scorers. Tampa Bay clinched their playoff berth earlier in the month and now turns attention to finalizing bracket positioning. The Lightning open the postseason against the Montreal Canadiens in the Eastern Conference first round.

Blues Rally from 3-0 Deficit with Five Straight Goals to Stun Penguins 7-5

The St. Louis Blues staged a remarkable comeback at Enterprise Center on Tuesday, rallying from a 3-0 first-period deficit to defeat the Pittsburgh Penguins 7-5 in a wild regular season finale. Jimmy Snuggerud was the catalyst with four points, scoring twice and assisting on both of Dylan Holloway’s third-period goals as Blues forwards poured in five unanswered to close out the contest. Pittsburgh had rested stars Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin with the playoffs beginning Saturday, but still held a comfortable lead before the Blues turned it around. Scheifele Sets Jets Franchise Points Record as Winnipeg Ends Season Outside Playoffs

Mark Scheifele’s remarkable individual campaign came to a collectively disappointing end as the Winnipeg Jets finished the regular season outside the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Scheifele closed out with 101 points — 35 goals and 66 assists — setting a new franchise record for the Jets and Atlanta Thrashers organization, surpassing the previous high-water mark. Despite his historic season, Winnipeg could not secure a postseason berth, leaving the team visibly frustrated as the curtain fell. Head coach Scott Arniel acknowledged the difficulty of the result, and Scheifele described the outcome as a tough reality for a group that genuinely believed it had the talent to compete for a playoff spot.
