Ohio Regulator Opens Probe into Texas Tech QB Sorsby’s Gambling History
The Ohio Casino Control Commission has opened an integrity investigation into Texas Tech quarterback Brendan Sorsby, joining the NCAA and Indiana Gaming Commission in probing the transfer signal-caller’s extensive betting history. Sorsby allegedly placed more than 10,000 wagers since 2022, including bets on Indiana football while he was a player for the Hoosiers as a redshirt freshman. He reportedly used a sportsbook account registered under another person’s name. In response, Sorsby took an indefinite leave from Texas Tech and entered a residential treatment facility for gambling addiction. His eligibility for the 2026 season remains in serious doubt while the multi-state investigation expands.

Mississippi Supreme Court Clears Chambliss for Sixth Season at Ole Miss
The Mississippi Supreme Court denied the NCAA’s appeal in the Trinidad Chambliss eligibility case on Friday, clearing the Ole Miss quarterback to play his sixth season in 2026. The court upheld a lower court’s injunction that ruled the NCAA acted in bad faith by counting Chambliss’s 2022 season against his eligibility despite tonsillitis sidelining him for much of that year. Chambliss emerged as one of college football’s breakout stars in 2025, throwing for 3,937 yards with 22 touchdowns and leading Ole Miss to its first College Football Playoff appearance. His return gives coach Pete Golding a proven SEC-caliber starter as the Rebels aim for a second consecutive playoff berth.
