Notre Dame Lands 5-Star DL David Folorunsho Over Miami, Georgia
David Folorunsho, the No. 9 overall prospect and No. 2 defensive lineman in Rivals’ 2027 recruiting rankings, has committed to Notre Dame, choosing the Fighting Irish over finalists Miami, Texas Tech, Michigan, and Georgia. The 6-foot-3, 285-pound defensive tackle from St. Patrick High School in Chicago was heavily recruited by the SEC and Big Ten. Head coach Marcus Freeman and his staff played a key role in the pursuit. Folorunsho becomes Notre Dame’s 17th commitment in its 2027 class, a significant addition to what is already considered one of the nation’s top defensive line hauls. His high school coach, Tommy Zbikowski, is a former Notre Dame safety.
