Hailo AI Chip Maker Halves Its Workforce in Strategic Reset
Israeli AI chip maker Hailo laid off 110 employees — 50 percent of its workforce — on June 8, 2026, its second reduction this year after cutting 30 staff in January. The Tel Aviv-based company, founded in 2017, has seen its valuation fall from $1.2 billion to $0.5 billion. Hailo has raised $344 million in total funding, including a $120 million round in April 2024. The company cited a strategic pivot toward physical AI markets including robotics and drones as the reason for the cuts. Sixteen positions remain open, primarily in software engineering and sales.

1 in 6 Active Job Seekers Already Working Multiple Jobs, Indeed Finds
Nearly one in six active job seekers on Indeed — 15.7 percent — held two or more jobs as of the fourth quarter of 2025, according to new research from Indeed Hiring Lab published June 9, 2026. Economist Cory Stahle found that workers in service roles are most likely to hold multiple positions, with food preparation and service topping the list at 17 percent. Application activity surges roughly three times in the month before a worker takes a second job, signaling financial pressure rather than casual exploration. Gig platform employers accounted for 1.3 percent of multiple-job applications by late 2025, up from 0.5 percent in 2018.
