Kucherov Not Thinking About Extension Despite Long-Term Future in Tampa

Nikita Kucherov deflected contract questions Tuesday, saying he is not thinking about his extension situation as Tampa Bay Lightning GM Julien BriseBois expressed confidence the star forward will remain with the franchise. Kucherov enters the final year of his deal in 2026-27, with the Lightning able to sign him to an extension beginning July 1. Canadiens and Sabres Open Round Two Tonight in Clash of Playoff Underdogs

The Montreal Canadiens and Buffalo Sabres open their Eastern Conference second-round series tonight at KeyBank Center in Buffalo, a matchup featuring two of the playoffs’ most improbable survivors.
