Red Sox Fire Manager Alex Cora After 17–1 Rout of Orioles; Chad Tracy Named Interim

The Boston Red Sox dismissed manager Alex Cora and five members of his coaching staff Saturday night, hours after the team battered the Baltimore Orioles 17–1 at Camden Yards. The firing came after Boston’s 10–17 start landed the club in last place in the AL East. Cora, who led the team to a World Series championship in 2018, saw his final game margin of victory recognized as the largest by any Major League manager since 1900, per the Elias Sports Bureau. Triple-A Worcester skipper Chad Tracy was named interim manager and will take over Sunday in Baltimore.
