Elly De La Cruz First Player Since 1900 with 10 HRs and 8 SBs Before May
Elly De La Cruz hit his 10th home run and drove in four runs as the Cincinnati Reds defeated the Colorado Rockies 7–2 at Great American Ball Park on Tuesday. The performance made De La Cruz the first major league player since 1900 to reach double-digit home runs and eight stolen bases before May. The 23-year-old shortstop went 3-for-4, added a stolen base, and delivered a key seventh-inning double play with an acrobatic read on a bad hop. Chase Burns pitched six strong innings, striking out nine, to improve to 5–1. Cincinnati is now 19–10 and in sole possession of first place in the NL Central.

Cody Bellinger’s first-inning double scored Judge, Austin Wells added a seventh-inning solo shot, and Judge’s leadoff blast in the ninth provided insurance. Munetaka Murakami hit a go-ahead three-run homer in a seven-run seventh inning as the Chicago White Sox rallied from a six-run deficit to beat the Los Angeles Angels 8–7 on Tuesday at Rate Field. The blast — Murakami’s 12th of the season — moved the Japanese rookie into sole possession of the major league home run lead before Aaron Judge later tied him. Toronto left-hander Trey Yesavage pitched into the sixth inning in a sharp 2026 season debut and Kazuma Okamoto drove in two runs as the Blue Jays blanked the Boston Red Sox 3–0 on Tuesday night at Rogers Centre. Okamoto’s two-out RBI single in the third inning off Red Sox starter Payton Tolle opened the scoring. Boston continues to navigate turmoil following the April 26 firing of manager Alex Cora. Yankees’ Stanton, Athletics’ Muncy Among Tuesday’s Notable IL Moves
The New York Yankees placed designated hitter Giancarlo Stanton on the 10-day injured list Tuesday with a low-grade right calf strain sustained while running the bases. Infielder Max Schuemann was recalled from Triple-A as the corresponding move. Stanton was batting .256 with three home runs before the injury, and manager Aaron Boone indicated a short absence is expected. Separately, the Oakland Athletics placed infielder Max Muncy on the IL after imaging revealed a fractured fifth metacarpal in his left hand, an injury originally diagnosed as a bruise from an April 13 hit-by-pitch. Brett Harris was recalled from Triple-A Las Vegas in the corresponding transaction.

The Mets improved to 10–19, cutting their deficit in the division standings to 10.5 games but still firmly in last place alongside Philadelphia.
