Cubs' Losing Streak Hits 10 Games After 12–1 Blowout Loss in Pittsburgh
The Chicago Cubs lost to Pittsburgh 12–1 on Tuesday, their tenth consecutive defeat and longest losing streak since 2022. Rookie Esmerlyn Valdez capped a five-run first inning with a two-run homer, becoming the seventh Pirate to homer twice within his first four career games. Braxton Ashcraft (4–3) held Chicago to one run over 6.1 innings and is 3–0 with a 1.82 ERA in five May starts. The Cubs went 1-for-12 with runners in scoring position and left nine on base. Chicago is now the second team in major league history to record two 10-game winning streaks and one 10-game losing streak in the same season, joining the 2017 Dodgers.

Yankees Hit 6 Homers, Every Starter Gets 2 Hits in Historic 15–1 Rout of Royals
The New York Yankees hit six home runs and became the first team in franchise history to have every starter record at least two hits in the same game, routing Kansas City 15–1 on Tuesday for their 12th consecutive win over the Royals. Amed Rosario homered twice and drove in four runs, while Cody Bellinger, Anthony Volpe, Trent Grisham and Jazz Chisholm Jr. also went deep. New York finished with 24 hits. Cam Schlittler (7–2) allowed only Bobby Witt Jr.’s solo homer over six innings, posting his seventh start in eight outings with one earned run or fewer. The Yankees’ league-leading home run total reached 82.

Chase Burns Takes One-Hitter Into Sixth as Reds Win Third Straight, 7–2 Over Mets
Chase Burns carried a one-hit shutout into the sixth inning before Juan Soto, returning from illness, hit a two-run homer, and the Cincinnati Reds defeated New York 7–2 Tuesday for their third straight win. Burns (7–1, 1.96 ERA) struck out eight and walked two in 5.1 innings. Eugenio Suárez and Elly De La Cruz each hit two-run doubles off David Peterson (3–5), and Tyler Stephenson added two RBI hits. Burns has posted a 1.54 ERA over his last four starts. The Mets, who have dropped five consecutive games, fell to 11 games under .500 at 22–33, tying their season-worst mark.

Kyle Harrison Sets Brewers History With Shutout Gem in 6–0 Win Over Cardinals
Kyle Harrison pitched six shutout innings to extend his scoreless streak to 18 frames as Milwaukee blanked visiting St. Louis 6–0 on Tuesday. Harrison (6–1, 1.57 ERA) allowed four hits without issuing a walk in his third consecutive scoreless start. Acquired from San Francisco in a February trade, his 1.57 ERA through his first 10 Brewers starts is the best in franchise history for that span, surpassing CC Sabathia’s 1.59 ERA in 2008. Jake Bauers opened the scoring with a fourth-inning homer, and Garrett Mitchell hit a 421-foot blast in a five-run fifth inning. Michael McGreevy (3–4) took the loss for the Cardinals.

Michael Harris II delivered a two-run homer in the eighth inning and finished with four hits, helping Atlanta hold on for a 7–6 victory at Fenway Park on Tuesday. Betts Hits Two Homers, Hernandez Returns as Dodgers Rout Rockies 15–6; Ohtani Exits After HBP
Mookie Betts hit two home runs and drove in five runs, Kike Hernandez homered in his first career Dodgers plate appearance after missing the season’s first 53 games with an elbow injury, and Los Angeles routed Colorado 15–6 on Tuesday night to remain atop the NL West at 35–20. The night turned concerning when Shohei Ohtani was struck on the right hand by a Kyle Freeland pitch in the fourth inning and exited in the fifth. Eric Lauer earned the win in his Dodgers debut. Los Angeles collected 17 hits and tied their season high for runs scored. Andy Pages and Will Smith also homered.

Harper, Realmuto and Turner All Homer as Phillies Edge Padres 4–3
Bryce Harper, J.T. Realmuto and Trea Turner each hit solo home runs, and the Philadelphia Phillies outlasted San Diego 4–3 on Tuesday night for their second straight win over the Padres. Harper connected on the ninth pitch of the game in the first inning, Realmuto went deep in the second, and Turner added a third-inning shot. Alec Bohm drove in another run with a single. Aaron Nola (3–4) allowed two runs on three hits over six innings with five strikeouts. Manny Machado answered with a two-run homer in the fourth, and Ramón Laureano’s solo shot in the eighth made it a one-run game before Jhoan Durán earned his 11th save.

Three Teams Place Pitchers and Outfielder on Injured List in Tuesday Roster Moves
Three teams made injury-related moves Tuesday as the Rays placed outfielder Jonny DeLuca on the 10-day injured list with a right hamstring strain, retroactive to May 23, and recalled Victor Mesa Jr. from Triple-A Jacksonville. DeLuca was injured while running the bases in a recent series against New York. The Texas Rangers placed right-hander Cole Winn on the 15-day IL with arm fatigue and recalled Gavin Collyer from the minors. Milwaukee also placed right-hander Logan Henderson on the 15-day IL with a low back strain, retroactive to May 23, and recalled Coleman Crow from Triple-A Nashville to fill the roster spot.
