Blaney Wins Rain-Delayed Atlanta Overtime Thriller
Ryan Blaney captured the Quaker State 400 at EchoPark Speedway in Atlanta in a rain-delayed overtime thriller that did not conclude until 1:45 a.m. ET Monday. Leading 171 of 263 laps, Blaney claimed his second victory of the 2026 season and 19th career Cup win, edging runner-up Christopher Bell by 0.068 seconds. A lightning storm at Lap 108 triggered a red flag that halted the race for more than three hours. Blaney swept both stages before making the decisive move on the final lap of overtime at the 1.5-mile Atlanta oval, earning Team Penske its second victory of 2026.
Bubba Wallace Penalized for Yellow Line Violation, Dropped from 2nd to 29th
Bubba Wallace's apparent runner-up finish at EchoPark Speedway became a 29th-place result after NASCAR penalized the No. 23 23XI Racing Toyota for violating the double yellow line rule on the final lap. North Wilkesboro Returns for First NASCAR Cup Points Race Since 1996
North Wilkesboro Speedway will host its first NASCAR Cup Series points race in 30 years when the Window World 450 takes the green flag Sunday, July 19, at 7 p.m. ET on TNT Sports. Thirty-seven cars are entered for the historic return to the 0.625-mile Wilkesboro, North Carolina, facility. Jeff Gordon won the last Cup points race there on September 29, 1996. North Wilkesboro hosted at least one Cup race every season from 1949 through 1996, then sat largely dormant before renovations revived the venue as host of the NASCAR All-Star Race from 2023 through 2025. The event is also Round 4 of the 2026 NASCAR In-Season Challenge, adding postseason implications beyond the regular-season points on offer.
