Spider-Man: Brand New Day Surpasses Avengers: Endgame as Second-Highest Domestic Grosser of All Time
Spider-Man: Brand New Day has overtaken Avengers: Endgame to become the second-highest-grossing film in North American box office history, reaching $858.4 million domestically against Endgame’s $858.3 million mark. Sony Pictures’ Marvel tentpole, which launched July 31, 2026, now trails only Star Wars: The Force Awakens ($936.6 million) on the all-time domestic chart. The film also set the domestic opening weekend record with $360 million, surpassing Endgame’s previous opening mark. Worldwide, Brand New Day has crossed $2.21 billion, making it the eighth film ever to reach that global benchmark and second-fastest to do so.

Rockstar Gives Netflix Six-Hour Exclusive on GTA 6 Extended Look Before YouTube Release
Rockstar Games has partnered with Netflix to give the streaming platform a six-hour exclusive on the GTA 6 “extended look,” which debuted on Netflix August 27 at 3 p.m. ET before dropping on Rockstar’s YouTube channel and the Grand Theft Auto VI site at 9 p.m. ET. Take-Two Interactive’s Rockstar chose the Netflix partnership to position the upcoming November 19 game launch as a major entertainment tentpole rather than a standard software release. The arrangement gives Netflix subscribers first access to new GTA footage six hours ahead of the public YouTube debut.
Chris Hansen Refuses A24 NDA, Leaves Without Seeing Robert Pattinson Biopic Primetime
A24’s upcoming drama “Primetime”—starring Robert Pattinson as former To Catch a Predator host Chris Hansen—has generated pre-release controversy after the real Hansen showed up for a private 10 a.m. screening at A24’s offices and left without watching the film. Chris Hansen said on Fox News he was asked to sign an agreement that would surrender rights to his name, image, brand, and potential legal claims. A24 countered that the NDA was a standard agreement required of all preview audiences. The film, which dramatizes Hansen’s career, is set to premiere September 25, 2026.

Prime Video Drops Official Trailer for The Love Hypothesis, Sets September 23 Premiere
Prime Video has released the official trailer for “The Love Hypothesis,” its September 23 film adaptation of Ali Hazelwood’s bestselling novel. Directed by Claire Scanlon, the film stars Lili Reinhart as Olive, a Ph.D. candidate who impulsively kisses her professor to fake a relationship, and Tom Bateman as Adam Carlsen, the intimidating academic at the center of the ruse. The trailer, released August 26, follows an earlier teaser that debuted at Prime Video’s Obsessed Fest fan event. The adaptation is part of Prime Video’s 2026 YA slate, which also includes companion title “Sterling Point.”

The Last Sunrise Soundtrack on Prime Video Spans Bad Bunny to Sabrina Carpenter
Prime Video’s “The Last Sunrise,” a romance adapted from Anna Todd’s bestselling novel and starring Maia Reficco and Fernando Lindez, has debuted with a soundtrack spanning Bad Bunny to Sabrina Carpenter. Sabrina Carpenter contributes “When Did You Get Hot?,” co-written with Amy Allen, Jack Antonoff, and John Henry Ryan. The full soundtrack listing was published August 26 ahead of the film’s Prime Video release. Todd is best known for the After franchise, which also spawned a series of streaming adaptations. The title joins Prime Video’s growing 2026 YA slate alongside “The Love Hypothesis.”
