Halifax Stadium Proposal Renews CFL Expansion Hopes in Atlantic Canada
A newly proposed $1.5-billion entertainment district outside Halifax has rekindled hopes for a 10th CFL franchise in Atlantic Canada. Delaware-based Ridgehaven Holdings LLC, led by Las Vegas lawyer Mason Williams and financial strategist Robert Millet, is seeking to build a 25,000-seat multi-use stadium near Halifax Stanfield International Airport on Highway 102. The group requires $500 million in equity and $1 billion in debt financing, with JPMorgan Chase reportedly on board to provide construction capital.
