Bo Levi Mitchell Undergoes Ankle Surgery; Tiger-Cats Expect Full Recovery
The Hamilton Tiger-Cats confirmed Monday that quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell underwent successful ankle surgery following his Week 5 injury against the Calgary Stampeders. Head coach Scott Steinauer said the team expects Mitchell to make a full recovery, though no return timeline was specified. Mitchell injured his left ankle when his foot became trapped under Calgary defender Jake Ceresna during a tackle. He was removed from BMO Field by ambulance but raised his fist and gave a thumbs-up as the crowd gave him a standing ovation. Through four 2026 regular-season games, Mitchell had posted a 78.2 per cent completion rate with 1,107 yards, nine touchdowns, and one interception.

Ottawa Rules Boundary Back Williams Out for Season with Torn Achilles
The Ottawa Redblacks have ruled out defensive back Bennett Williams for the remainder of the 2026 season after the 27-year-old suffered a torn Achilles tendon. Head coach Ryan Dinwiddie said the injury was devastating news for Williams and the team. The Campbell, California native started all four of Ottawa's regular-season games at boundary halfback, recording 12 defensive tackles and five special teams tackles before going down. Williams played his college football at the University of Oregon, went undrafted in the 2023 NFL Draft, and signed with the Miami Dolphins before joining the Redblacks. This is his third CFL season.

Ottawa Redblacks Bring Back Canadian DB Eric Cumberbatch to Active Roster
The Ottawa Redblacks have re-signed Canadian defensive back Eric Cumberbatch to their active roster, the team announced Monday. The 23-year-old from Alexandria, Ontario was a fifth-round pick in the 2025 CFL Draft who played 11 regular-season games as a rookie before being released from Ottawa's practice roster in mid-June. Montreal Alouettes Sign QB Terry Wilson and Two Others in Roster Additions

Hunter, Judge Miss Toronto Argonauts Practice Ahead of Week 6 Trip to Winnipeg

Rogers to Acquire Full Control of MLSE — Including the Toronto Argonauts — for $4.35 Billion
Rogers Communications has agreed to purchase the remaining 25 per cent stake in Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment from Kilmer Sports for $4.35 billion, giving the company full ownership of the sports conglomerate. The deal was announced Monday by Rogers president and CEO Tony Staffieri, who called it a defining moment for the company. MLSE owns the Toronto Argonauts, Maple Leafs, Raptors, Toronto FC, Toronto Marlies, and Scotiabank Arena. Rogers separately owns the Blue Jays and Rogers Centre. The transaction requires league approvals and is expected to close later this year.
