Clemson Lands WR Julian Cromartie, Son of NFL All-Pro, to Open Visit Weekend
Wide receiver Julian Cromartie committed to Clemson on Friday afternoon, choosing the Tigers over Kentucky and Kansas and becoming the first pledge from the program’s marquee official visit weekend, Sports Illustrated reported. The 6-foot-4, 200-pound prospect from College Park in The Woodlands, Texas, is the son of former Florida State cornerback and All-Pro Antonio Cromartie. Rivals’ Industry rankings list the three-star as the No. 993 overall recruit in the 2027 class. He joins four-stars Trey Wimbley and Jamarin Simmons in the Tigers’ receiver haul. As a junior, Cromartie caught 42 passes for 824 yards and 13 touchdowns.

USC Hosts 12 of 13 Committed 2027 Recruits for First Official Visit Weekend
USC welcomed 12 of its 13 verbally committed 2027 recruits to campus this weekend for official visits, Sports Illustrated reported, with five-star edge rusher Mekai Brown the lone pledge absent after locking in a June 11 trip. Rather than chasing new targets, Lincoln Riley’s staff used the weekend to build chemistry, meet with position coaches and coordinators, review film and finalize NIL arrangements. Hawaii four-star offensive tackle Isaiah Bertola was the only uncommitted prospect in attendance. The Trojans hold 13 commitments and plan to add just two or three more, a far smaller class than the 35 players they signed last cycle.

Coach Jeff Brohm prioritized current pledges, with 13 of the program’s commitments on campus; tight end Xavier Ratica was the lone exception, set to visit the following weekend. Among eight uncommitted visitors, the headliner was four-star Lithonia, Georgia running back A.J. Tillman Jr., with Atlanta Westlake cornerback Khamani Estrada another top-500 target. Louisville holds 14 commitments and ranks No. 16 nationally, on track for the best class in program history under Brohm, who added recruiter Vince Marrow to his staff.
