Texas Tech QB Brendan Sorsby Declares for NFL Supplemental Draft, Ending College Career
Texas Tech quarterback Brendan Sorsby declared for the 2026 NFL supplemental draft on Monday, ending his college career amid a gambling investigation and legal battle with the NCAA. Sorsby, who acknowledged placing more than 2,900 bets totaling over $30,000 during his time at Indiana, completed inpatient treatment for a gambling addiction before a Texas court granted him a temporary injunction in June clearing him to play in 2026. Despite winning that legal fight, Sorsby opted for the professional route after Texas Tech board of regents chairman Cody Campbell called the supplemental draft “the only viable and fair path” for his future. The Red Raiders enter 2026 without their starting quarterback.

Notre Dame Lands Legacy Duo Julius Jones Jr. and Andre Jones in Back-to-Back Commitments
Notre Dame added two legacy talents to its future classes Monday when four-star wide receiver Julius Jones Jr. committed to the Fighting Irish for the 2027 class live on “The Pat McAfee Show,” with his younger brother Andre Jones, a four-star safety in the 2028 class, also committing on-air. Julius, ranked No. 50 in On3’s SC Next 300, is the son of former Notre Dame running back Julius Jones Sr., who led the program in rushing three times from 1999 to 2003. The Fort Lauderdale, Fla., St. Thomas Aquinas standout caught 58 passes for 876 yards and 14 touchdowns as a junior, choosing the Irish over Miami and Oregon.
Florida State Secures Three Top-Ranked Commits in 48 Hours with Tiller, Carter, and O’Neal
Florida State added three top-ranked prospects over two days, bolstering its 2026 recruiting class. Tight end Xavier Tiller, ESPN’s No. 6 tight end and No. 82 overall recruit in the ESPN 300, flipped from Texas A&M, choosing the Seminoles over Auburn and Alabama. Wide receiver Devin Carter — whose father Dexter Carter played at Florida State from 1986 to 1989 — also flipped to FSU following an official visit in June, becoming the top-ranked wide receiver in the Seminoles’ class. Quarterback Jaden O’Neal, ESPN’s No. 7 pocket passer in the 2026 class, committed a day earlier. The wave of commits gives coach Mike Norvell significant momentum heading into the summer.
Five-Star Pass Rusher Richard Wesley Commits to Texas, Capping Standout Defensive Recruiting Month
The Texas Longhorns landed a commitment from five-star pass rusher Richard Wesley on Monday, adding the No. 11 overall prospect in the 2026 ESPN 300 to their defensive class. Wesley’s pledge gives Texas more top-20 defensive tackle pledges than any program nationally, according to ESPN. Head coach Steve Sarkisian has assembled another strong recruiting class this cycle, and the Longhorns have had a productive June on the defensive line. Texas enters the summer among the nation’s elite recruiting programs and looks to translate its offseason work into a Big 12 championship run and College Football Playoff berth in 2026.
