College Football Community Mourns Texas A&M Legend Keith Mitchell, Pro Bowl LB and ‘Wrecking Crew’ Star, at 51
College football lost one of its own Thursday with the passing of former Texas A&M linebacker Keith Mitchell, who died at the age of 51. Mitchell was a celebrated member of the Aggies’ famed “Wrecking Crew” defense and a 2000 Pro Bowl selection following his NFL career. He came to Texas A&M as part of a defensive tradition that made the Aggies one of the nation’s most feared programs during his era. The college football community is mourning the loss of a player whose name became synonymous with Aggie defensive excellence and whose Pro Bowl career honored the standard set in College Station.
