Ohio State Beats Out Auburn and Georgia for Four-Star DL Karlos May
Ohio State has landed four-star defensive lineman Karlos May from Birmingham (Ala.) Ramsay, who ranks No. 78 in the Rivals300. May chose the Buckeyes over Auburn, Georgia, and Florida State. A pivotal official visit to Columbus changed everything for the 6-foot-2.5, 330-pound prospect. “That official visit to Ohio State changed everything. Before that, I was going to Georgia,” May said. The DL coaching staff at Ohio State, led by Larry Johnson, made a decisive impression on May, who is now set to bolster what is already one of the most decorated defensive line pipelines in college football.

BYU Wins Commitment of Orem Edge Jag Ioane Over Michigan, Utah
BYU picked up a notable in-state commitment Saturday when Orem (Utah) edge Jag Ioane chose the Cougars from a final group of Boise State, Michigan, Utah, and Washington. Ioane, described as a hybrid linebacker/edge with plenty of positional flexibility, cited comfort as the deciding factor. “In the end BYU is where I felt most comfortable and right at home,” he said. On3 notes that his get-off is what separates him as a pass rusher, along with an ability to anticipate the snap count — traits expected to fit seamlessly into the Cougars’ defensive front-seven.

With SEC Kickoff Media Days opening in Tampa this week, On3 published its full 2026 conference preview on Saturday. Texas tops the power rankings as the team to beat — On3 notes this could be Steve Sarkisian’s most talented team yet. Georgia checks in at No. 2, rebounding from what On3 called “a bit of a bridge season” despite winning the SEC title. Ole Miss ranks third, powered by quarterback Trinidad Chambliss and running back Kewan Lacy, who combined for 54 touchdowns last season. Arch Manning enters his second year as starter having posted 20 touchdowns with just two turnovers in his final eight games.
Weekend Roundup: Zembrycki to Northern Arizona, Pritts to Temple, Shavers Jr. to Gardner-Webb

Chandler (Ariz.) edge Jaxon Zembrycki, 6-foot-5 and 245 pounds, committed to Northern Arizona on Saturday. Dupont Manual (Louisville, Ky.) kicker Jackson Pritts, a 6-foot-3, 195-pound specialist, chose Temple on Saturday. And on Sunday, Fitzgerald (Ga.) athlete Randy Shavers Jr., 6-foot-2 and 220 pounds, committed to Gardner-Webb. All three commitments were verified on On3’s national tracker on their respective dates. While none are blue-chip prospects, each round of commitments adds depth to programs building through recruiting on quiet summer weekends.
