Pogačar Attacks 5km from Tourmalet Summit to Win Stage 6 Solo and Reclaim Yellow Jersey
Tadej Pogačar launched a decisive attack 5km from the summit of the Col du Tourmalet on stage 6 of the Tour de France, riding 43km alone to win in Gavarnie-Gèdre and reclaim the race lead. UAE Team Emirates-XRG teammate Isaac del Toro launched the Slovenian from the front of the group, leaving Jonas Vingegaard unable to match the pace. Vingegaard finished second at 2:38 on the stage and del Toro third at 2:57. Pogačar now leads the general classification by 2:42 over Vingegaard, with del Toro third at 3:27 and Remco Evenepoel fourth at 3:30. It was Pogačar’s 23rd career Tour de France stage win.

Former Race Leader Torstein Træen Out of Tour de France With Broken Ribs After Tourmalet Crash
Torstein Træen withdrew from the Tour de France on Friday after crashing on the descent from the Col du Tourmalet during stage 6.
