Man City Break British Record with £116m Elliot Anderson Deal
Manchester City confirmed on Thursday they have agreed to sign Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson for a fixed £116 million with no add-ons or bonuses. The deal makes Anderson, 23, the most expensive British player ever, surpassing the £105 million Arsenal paid for Declan Rice in 2023. Anderson passed a medical at England’s World Cup training base in Kansas City and will formally complete his Etihad move once the tournament ends. He joined Forest from Newcastle in 2024 and made 92 appearances at the City Ground before this departure. City have not ruled out making further midfield signings this summer, sources say.
Enzo Fernandez Agent Confirms Chelsea Exit Search
Enzo Fernandez’s agent Javier Pastore has confirmed the Chelsea midfielder is exploring options to leave Stamford Bridge this summer. Speaking to Spanish outlet Marca, Pastore said: “We are looking at possibilities to leave Chelsea, but there is nothing firm or confirmed at any club.” ESPN reported in May that Chelsea would demand £120 million if Fernandez sought an exit. The 25-year-old Argentine, contracted until 2032, has scored 19 goals and registered 17 assists in 117 Premier League appearances since joining from Benfica for £107 million in February 2023. Chelsea sources told ESPN they currently expect Fernandez to report for pre-season training after Argentina’s World Cup campaign concludes.
Arsenal Eye £130m Double Raid on Aston Villa for Rogers and Konsa
Arsenal are looking to sign two Aston Villa players this summer, ESPN reported on Friday. The Premier League champions are interested in Villa forward Morgan Rogers, with Arsenal and Chelsea each believing Villa could be persuaded to sell at around £85 million. Alongside that pursuit, Arsenal are also eyeing 28-year-old England defender Ezri Konsa, who can play center back and right back. Arsenal believe Konsa could be available for around £35 million, though formal talks have not yet taken place and Villa value him considerably higher. A double deal would represent a sizeable outlay by Arsenal in what is expected to be an active summer transfer window.
AC Milan Target Van Dijk in Ambitious Liverpool Raid
AC Milan are considering a move for Liverpool center back Virgil van Dijk this summer, ESPN reported Thursday, citing Gazzetta dello Sport. Van Dijk, 34, is entering the final year of his contract at Anfield. Milan officials are discussing the feasibility of a potential deal, though Gazzetta describes any possible move as “complicated” — pointing to the finances involved and the possibility that Liverpool would not be open to parting with their experienced defender. Van Dijk is currently representing the Netherlands at the 2026 World Cup in the United States. How any negotiations develop is expected to become clearer once the tournament concludes in mid-July.

Lamine Yamal played 85 minutes — described as his longest involvement in the tournament so far after regaining fitness from injury — and was named the match’s MVP. His snap shot in the closing minutes was turned away on the line by David Alaba. Spain next face Portugal or Croatia in Dallas on July 6.

Brown will sign a contract with the Bundesliga giants running until 2031. In addition, Bayern are monitoring Juventus center back Bremer, 29, as they assess further defensive reinforcements, according to Sky Italia as relayed by ESPN. Bremer wants to remain at Juventus and potentially end his career there, the report notes, but also wants clarity on whether the club would consider a sale.
