Honda will introduce a Spec 2 version of its RA626H power unit at the Dutch Grand Prix in Zandvoort after experiencing serious vibration and insufficient power problems at the start of the season. Honda general trackside manager Shintaro Orihara confirmed the new specification has hit internal targets. “We focused to improve engine performance to make combustion faster,” Orihara said. “We changed the pre-chamber to make the combustion faster, and also changed the piston shape to get good combustion. We also modified some of the lubrication system to reduce friction. We had a quite big risk to improve engine performance.”
McLaren boss admits team paid heavy price for 2025 championship double
McLaren boss Andrea Stella has admitted the team paid an “unexpected heavy price” for its 2025 championship double, contributing to a difficult start to 2026.
