HubSpot Cuts About 660 Jobs, 7% of Staff, in AI-Focused Restructuring
HubSpot, the Cambridge, Massachusetts-based software company, announced Tuesday that about 660 workers will be laid off, a 7% staff reduction, as it pivots to an AI-focused strategy. CEO Yamini Rangan wrote in a letter to employees that the company has shifted from building software that helps customers grow to delivering outcomes for them with AI. Rangan said the company needs to move faster and announced changes that include fewer management layers, while noting the decision “is not driven by AI-related efficiencies.” Departing employees will receive 20 weeks of base pay plus a week per year of service, up to 30 weeks, in severance, along with five months of healthcare benefits.
