Grosjean Cleared to Race at Gateway After Detroit Hand Surgery
Romain Grosjean underwent hand surgery Monday in Indianapolis following a crash at the Detroit Grand Prix, then confirmed Thursday he has been cleared to race this weekend at World Wide Technology Raceway. The 40-year-old suffered a broken bone in his right hand when his No. 18 Dale Coyne Racing Honda was punted by Alexander Rossi entering Turn 3, with his finger struck by the spinning steering wheel. Grosjean had a pin inserted before completing simulator work at Tony Kanaan’s facility. He currently sits 21st in the IndyCar championship through eight of 18 rounds.

Hybrid Failures Leave IndyCar Teams Short on Spare Units Heading to Gateway

Kevin ‘Rocket’ Blanch Retires as IndyCar Technical Director After 36 Years
