Dixon Set to End 25-Year Chip Ganassi Tenure for Arrow McLaren in 2027, Sources Say
Scott Dixon's remarkable 25-year partnership with Chip Ganassi Racing is coming to an end, with sources telling RACER's Marshall Pruett that the six-time IndyCar champion plans to join Arrow McLaren for 2027. Dixon, 45, informed Ganassi of his intention to leave during a personal meeting, after which he wound down non-racing communications with the team. Neither Dixon nor Arrow McLaren has issued official confirmation — Dixon did not respond to RACER's request for comment — but multiple McLaren team members have privately stated the signing is complete. Eight races remain in Dixon's storied Ganassi career.

Reigning Indianapolis 500 winner Felix Rosenqvist, 34, is set to join Arrow McLaren for 2027, sources told RACER's Marshall Pruett, reuniting the Swede with former Chip Ganassi Racing teammate Scott Dixon. Rosenqvist won the 2026 Indy 500 with Meyer Shank Racing by the closest margin in race history, then declined MSR's contract extension just before Road America to settle on McLaren. Dixon's long-term manager Stefan Johansson also manages Rosenqvist and is reported to have introduced the Swede to McLaren alongside his client's own signing. MSR has since received an overwhelming array of outreaches from drivers in F1, F2, and IndyCar to fill Rosenqvist's seat.
Lundgaard and Siegel Headed to Free Agency as Arrow McLaren Reshuffles Roster

But Ericsson's resurgent 2026 season — RACER describes him as the “Drive Angry” version of the Swede — rendered that path unnecessary. McLaughlin Eyes Mid-Ohio to Break 28-Race Winless Streak, Longest of His Career
Scott McLaughlin is heading to Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course aiming to end his 28-race NTT IndyCar Series winless streak — the longest drought of his career. The New Zealander last won at the Milwaukee Mile in 2024. IndyCar.com reports McLaughlin completed more than 100 laps in Team Penske's June 23 test at Mid-Ohio, exceeding the race's 90-lap distance, as part of a deliberate reset at a circuit where the team struggled in 2025. McLaughlin sits seventh in the standings, 126 points behind Alex Palou. “Anything can happen, and you've got to be on the right side of the luck,” he said.

Penske Logs 100-Plus Laps at Mid-Ohio With Nasr Filling In for Injured Newgarden
Team Penske is targeting a strong Mid-Ohio performance after a comprehensive June 23 test at the Ohio road course. David Malukas joined Scott McLaughlin while Porsche Penske Motorsport driver Felipe Nasr substituted for Josef Newgarden in the No. 2 car. Newgarden has been racing through a left leg injury sustained in a Lap 124 crash at the Indianapolis 500 on May 24, wearing a walking boot and using crutches at Road America while competing in every race since. “It's a track we've been good at in the past, but last year we struggled. We're trying to bring back that form,” McLaughlin said.
