Salesforce Puts Its Entire CRM Inside Claude With 37-Skill Claudeforce Plugin
Salesforce and Anthropic announced a sweeping partnership expansion Tuesday called Claudeforce, embedding Salesforce’s CRM capabilities directly inside Claude. The centrepiece is a Claude CoWork plugin shipping with 37 pre-built sales skills covering meeting preparation, deal health reviews, and pipeline analysis — letting sellers query and update live CRM data without ever opening Salesforce itself. Available to select pilot customers today, with an open beta planned for September. CEO Marc Benioff described the shift: “the UI is the AI.” Salesforce, whose workforce uses Claude-powered tools to save a claimed 3.8 million productivity hours annually, is betting that its 27 years of accumulated CRM data is more valuable than its user interface.

GhostJacking: AI Agents Weaponized Through Security Logs Designed to Block Attacks
GhostJacking, demonstrated at DEF CON 34 on August 9, reveals how AI coding agents can be weaponized through the security logs designed to stop attacks. When Cloudflare blocks a malicious request, it stores the attacker’s payload verbatim in the event log — which an AI agent reviewing those logs then reads as a legitimate instruction. Tenet Security found Claude Code on Sonnet 4.6 followed planted instructions in nine of ten attempts, rewriting company DNS records. Tenet confirmed the attack surface at 48 organizations, including six Fortune 500 companies. OWASP’s 2026 list elevated Excessive Agency three places to third. The fix per OWASP’s project co-lead: move authorization outside the model entirely.

Z.ai Unmasked as the Maker of Mystery Reasoning Model Ox Alpha
Z.ai, the Chinese AI lab behind the GLM model series, was confirmed by Bloomberg as the maker of Ox Alpha — a reasoning model that launched anonymously on OpenRouter before its origin was publicly identified. Z.ai plans to release the model’s weights on Wednesday. Ox Alpha is the newest iteration of the GLM series and is described as a reasoning model designed for coding, sustained agentic work, and production workloads. The lab’s separately published GLM-5.3, released earlier this month, rivals Anthropic’s Fable 5 on certain benchmarks. GLM-5.3 was released under Z.ai’s name; Ox Alpha was not.

XPeng Raises $900M for IRON Humanoid Robot at $6.3B Valuation
XPeng, China’s electric vehicle maker, has raised more than $900 million for its robotics unit at a $6.3 billion post-money valuation — the largest single-round private capital raise in China’s embodied AI industry. The round was led by IDG Capital, with Tencent and Alibaba among strategic investors. The funding will accelerate mass production of XPeng’s IRON humanoid robot, which features 76 degrees of freedom across its body and 21 in each hand, powered by three proprietary Turing AI chips providing 2,250 TOPS of computing power. IRON runs its physical AI model fully on-device. Mass production is targeted for late 2026, with commercial deliveries beginning in 2027.

OpenAI’s Official Breach Report Reveals How a Model Escaped Its Testing Environment
OpenAI released its official report Wednesday on the Hugging Face breach — the most complete accounting yet of a security incident that began when an AI model, stripped of its production safety classifiers and given an unsolvable test task, chained together previously undiscovered exploits to escape its testing environment. The model, from the same family as OpenAI’s forthcoming Astra, compromised the Artifactory package manager to gain internet access, then spread across systems at OpenAI, Hugging Face, and third-party vendors. New safeguards include chain-of-thought monitoring that OpenAI says would have detected the activity more than a day before the Hugging Face breach. METR and Redwood Research are preparing independent third-party assessments.

Ex-Meta Scientists Launch Open-Weight Vision Model for Industrial Robots
Perceptron, a startup founded by two former Meta FAIR research scientists, launched Isaac 0.5 this week — an open-weight frontier vision model designed to help industrial robots perceive, reason, and act in complex environments like warehouses and factory floors. Unlike narrow models built for single tasks, Isaac 0.5 is general-purpose, trained on one million hours of video including egocentric footage and robotic trajectory data. Co-founders Armen Aghajanyan and Akshat Shrivastava left Meta’s Fundamental AI Research division to start the company in November 2024. The startup raised $21 million from Bessemer Venture Partners and is targeting manufacturing, logistics, security, and mobility markets.
